Israel Tourism “Doing Quite Well”

With all of the political turmoil in the Middle East, as well as the recession here in Canada and the U.S. over the past two or three years, how has travel to Israel fared? The answer, according to Haim Gutin, Israel’s commission for tourism, North and South America, is the country has done quite well despite such challenges. Gutin, who is based in New York City, was named tourism commissioner last September, taking over from Ari Sommer. We spoke with Gutin about trends in Israel’s tourism, the country’s tourism infrastructure, new hotel developments, and strategy for the future. [...]
